More about me...and Three Little Birds

“Don’t worry about a thing

“Cause every little thing is gonna be alright”...

Three Little Birds, by Bob Marley.

When my oldest son was born, there were countless nights we would spend singing (completely out of tune) that song to him. At the time, I am pretty sure it was because it was a song we had been listening to quite often. It didn’t take long to realize how perfectly appropriate the words were when attempting to calm a little one. We continued with all three of our boys to use that song, and those words. We used it to get thru sleepless nights, fussy days, but also used it like a mantra...”every little thing is gonna be alright”. Sometimes I would be assuring my sweet boys of this. Admittedly, there were also times I would use those lyrics to remind myself that everything was indeed, going to be alright.

I know if I were you, I would not feel comfortable welcoming just anyone into my home, and essentially, my family. So let me tell you a little bit about myself. My name is Courtney Pasqualoni. I have three boys of my own. They are now 17, 15, and 9. I was lucky enough to be a stay at home mom for quite a while. I am unbelievably grateful to have had the chance to be home with them and experience, firsthand, every milestone. All the first smiles, first words, first steps...

I do believe being a mother has provided me with some maternal skills, but I also would like to share my educational background. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from UNH. I am a Certified End of Life Doula (University of Vermont), as well as a trained birth doula. It was through my birth doula training five years ago, that I came to the realization that the postpartum period is really what I am passionate about, and continued on with postpartum doula training and then studied to be a pediatric sleep consultant. I also have advanced training in Postpartum Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMAD’s) thru Postpartum Support International as well as The Parental Action Institute.

Having suffered from Postpartum Depression with one of my babies, I have struggled myself. My goal as a postpartum doula is to do whatever I can to prevent more women / families from suffering. If a family is concerned about a potential postpartum mood disorder, I will be sure to provide them with recommended specialists and other resources, as well as offer a listening ear and a safe environment.

My goal as a Gentle Sleep Coach / Pediatric Sleep Consultant, is to empower not just the child, but the parents to acquire the skills necessary for healthy sleep habits. I promise to meet families where they’re at with sleep training. We can move forward as gently as desired, My main focus is to nurture and maintain a strong attachment between babies / children and their caregivers. I truly believe that a well-rested family is a happy one!

No matter what your family situation is, I will be there to hold space with listening ears, a non-judgmental approach, and an open heart.
